A fat Lawyer finds himself growing "Thinner" when an old gypsy man places a hex on him. Now the lawyer must call upon his friends in organized crime to help him persuade the gypsy to lift the curse. Lucy (2014) EXCELLENT Sci-Fi action movie I reviewed a couple months ago. stars Scarlett Johansson as Lucy and Morgan Freeman with French actor Amr Waked as a drug agent and Korean actor Choi Min-sik as one of the better vilians I have seen in recent films. it runs a short 90 minutes and is just about non-stop action with excellent CGI, car chases and "oodles of ordnance". plays again on Cinemax channels Thursday October 8th and repeats Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I rate it of four and just missed a four rating it is that entertaining. it is a movie I can watch multiple times and still find interesting
Best movie I've seen in quite some time. A pleasant surprise. LOVED IT!

The Fog (1980) Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, Janet Leigh
The centenary of the small seaside town of Antonio Bay, California is approaching. One hundred years ago, the wealthy leper Blake bought the clipper ship Elizabeth Dane and sailed with his people to form a leper colony. However, while sailing through a thick fog, they were deliberately misguided by a campfire onshore, steering the course of the ship toward the light and crashing her against the rocks. While the townsfolk prepare to celebrate, the victims of this heinous crime that the town's founding fathers committed rise from the sea to claim retribution. Under cover of the fog, they carry out their vicious attacks, searching for what is rightly theirs.
3/4 dog bones. A classic. Hard to believe it was 35 years ago. Also has the late George "Buck" Flower in it.

Any movie which features both the busty Barbeau and JL Curtis is worth watching.
For the family with kids, Disney's Halloweentown (1998) and it's sequels are great viewing at this time of year.

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.

Liked the story, but didn't care much for the CGI. Was thinking how cool this movie would have been with real life characters instead of all the CGI.

The more I watched this movie the more I realized that the people who made this movie wanted it to be Awful. And it was.
Probably should have stopped after the 4th one.

I agree with you. But when I was a little kid growing up in the late 80s/early 90s, I thought they were great and the scariest movies ever! Friday the 13th and the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.
Personally, scary as a boy, comedy as an adult.
