For me

The Shining ... did not finish the book, did not finish the movie. I was not that old when i saw it and it surely triggered my mind. Back then i found it made me thinking and imagining some scary things that a child mind should not be aware off. Creepy story and movie.

when I was very young childs play and halloween scared me shitless. Hard to get scared by any of the garbage they come out with these days. I guess 30 days of night was probably the closest.

When I was a child, it was easily Salem's Lot. Still creeps me out thinking about that kid's brother scratching on his upstairs window.

I was going to post the exact same scene.  I was terrified of sleeping next to a window for a long time after watching that scene (I was probably 4-6 when I saw it.)

  Just watched the clip... doesn't even compare to the way I remember it. It's so goofy to me now.  But, man, was I scared back then.

My little brother (10 years younger than me)  asked me one time if Friday the 13th was considered scary when it came out  because it was always just a joke among his friends growing up.  I said, "No, it was definitely scary back then!"

I know i will be laughed at but for me it was Open Water. I won't step foot in a ocean and then i saw this and i was scared shitless

In The Shining when Nicholson walks into that one room thinks he's seeing a hot neckid chick, and she transforms into the creepiest scariest naked ol' lady.

Seen a movie when teenager that had me looking over my shoulder and kept the lights on the first Witchboard now watching this not so bad.

exactly...Salems Lot for sure when i was a kid

also when Barlow appears when they are gathered around the kitchen table

LOL . It's been 20 years since I seen Salem's Lot. That scene that I posted is from some remake. The original is much creepier.

Another one that gave me the heebie jeebies was the remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland.

That scene with the dog with the human face was fucking creepy as hell.

The orginal phsyco scared the daylights out of me as a child. The shower scene especially. I would only have showers when my mom was home and with the door open lol

The Thing from JOhn Carpenter....... I was like 6 at the time and we had a Husky for family dog.....

I never looked at my dog the same way after....! 

And that movie itself for a 6 years old hisn't the best one to watch because it still his a great movie IMO!

The Fly, short circuit, Gremlins and Poltergiest...saw all these movies in one night...had nightmares for weeks with all the movies intertwined
