I mean the Wire did maybe have more depth sure, but that's because each season took on a story of it's own and the sheer number of characters/players involved. But BB had it's own sense of range too, with WW starting off just trying to making something for his family to eventually becoming "the one who knocks". All great shows as others have said, but BB belongs up there with the great anti-hero classics, but which is better or worse really has to do with a person's preference on story/setting/characters. Arguing one is more overrated to the others (esp based on a comparison to each other) doesnt really do any of them justice imo.
Personally, I am more of a Wire guy, but BB definitely has a place among the elite.

There's no doubt that it's a good show, I was just expecting more.
I made the mistake from the start of comparing it to The Wire. That show has ruined all dramas for me. The brilliance of it is that each season has a different theme, which all tie together; from street level drug trade to international import/export to politics to education to how it's portrayed in the media.
It's crazy that a lot of fans started watching after the show ended; just like I'm doing with Breaking Bad.
Agreed Rainmaker.
