Harlem Nights and The Big Town.

the gambler with james caan and owning mahowny with the late seymour hoffman, these movies looked more at the psyche of gambling.

Owning Mahoney and Rounders for me

Im working through seeing all good gambling movies now. So far Rounders, casino, Cincinnati kid, owning mahowney, The cooler, 21 maybe a few more that i can not remember right now. I have a lot more movies I still need to watch a lot of them are the ones you guys mentioned.

High Roller: The Stu Unger Story.

Rounders was brilliant as a film and as a gambling genre iconic piece. The scene with Knish ranting about how he does this for money was classic for me.

The best though IMO is The Gambler with James Caan. Although I didn't understanding the stabbing of the pimp scene.

Try Diggstown - Great ending.

Rounders/The Sting (but may be not a gambling movie)

I loved California Split starring Elliot Gould and George Segal.

 

I also know that Rounders Two is in the works. Long overdue.

Worst gambling movie of all-time has to be Two For the Money. Hard to believe a movie with Al Pacino, Matthew McConaughey, Rene Russo, and Armand Assante could suck so much.

The horse racing scene in Easy Money is priceless

Ya I just re-watched it the other night. it IS pretty much tripe BUT does depict just how sleazy the "pay for play" sports handicapping "industry" really is. living in Las Vegas, I KNOW. these guys make Lawyers and Stockbrokers look honest

For some reason I really enjoy the movie, Two For The Money. I know it is a bad story and what not, but I do enjoy it. Al Pacino's character might be the reason why.
