sorry. "Papa Ratte" has "alten augen" (old eyes). I actully think "The Rainmaker" is Grisham's best novel to movie. excellent cast with Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, and Jon Voight. you want to know what so called "health insurance" companies are REALLY about, watch this movie.

Oh HELL!!! completely forgot about The Verdict with Paul Newman. he made a LOT of GREAT movies and this one is probably his BEST "serious drama". definately would be in my top 5 of courtroom themed movies. other people must think so too. it was nominated for 5 of the "top 8" Acadamy Awards.

forgot The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) with Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Phillippe, William H. Macy and Marisa Tomei. excellent courtroom drama with a crazy plot twist. also excellent suspence and action scenes. the name is because McConaughey's character, criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller, work out of his Lincoln Towncar
been running every so often on the new EPIX-HD channels recently. definately worth watching
re-visited Breaker Morant (1980) on the new EPIX 2 channel last night. excellent military courtroom drama about the true life story of the trial and execution of Australian Cavalry Trooper Harry "Breaker" Morant and fellow Trooper Peter Handcock for the alleged murder of Afrikaner Dutch prisoners during the Boer War.
very well acted by all involved . plays on EPIX2 again Friday May 24th @ 3 am pacific if you want to record. has a great Rudyard Kipling style poem by Morant at the end....

well we forgot one of the best "pure courtroom" dramas of the last 20 years. Amistad (1997). at least half the movie takes place in the courtroom with Matthew McConaughey as the Amistad Africans defense lawyer Roger Baldwin, the late Pete Postlethwaite as prosecutor William Holabird and Anthony Hopkins as former President John Quincy Adams who takes up the Amistad African's cause and argues it at The Supreme Court. other major players are Djimon Hounsou as Cinque, leader of the Amistad Africans and Nigel Hawthorne as American President Martin Van Buren.
