I fucking love it, I grew up listening to it because of my parents, but now that I'm in my mid 20's I can't stop remembering all the good times when I was a child hearing these songs. I watch the 'Lifetime 80's Gold' infomercial every time it is on. I feel kinda when I jam to this shit, but it's just so fucking addicting. I've gone through phases of listening to rock, hip/hop, and then rock again, but I never get tired of the good old corny 80's jams. Anybody else have a hidden love for 80's music?

Love the late 70's & 80's music..............Boston,REO Speedwagon, Heart, Scorpions, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Sammy Hagar, Pat Travers,Ted Nugent, Journey, Loverboy, along with all the New Wave stuff.
My 20's were a blast, though most of it's just a blur now.

There is a bar in Chi-town....3 stories I believe. They play 70's music on one floor, 80's music on one floor, and 90's music on the third. At least they did a few years ago when I was last there.

I absolutely hate 80's music. Nothing against anybody that does. It makes my skin crawl, because that's when music started to get all synthesized and fake. Because before the 80's, the technology just wasn't there to be able to fake it, you actually had to play your instruments and be able to sing.
It seems that folks ten or fifteen years younger than me, love 80's music, because that's what they remember when they were little kids (not teenagers). It's funny, because I love 70's music, the stuff that I listen to when I was a little kid. When I was was a teenager in the 80's I listened to heavy metal and classic rock...but as I got older, it turned into the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead.

I know most people feel an attachment to the genre of music they grew up with. I walk down the street and see 50 yr old guys blasting CCR or the Doors from their garage while working on their Harley bikes..but I am in the 80s camp as well.
Not the REO speedwagon or Chicago or Ratt personally.
I prefer the techno that some dislike here and then the rap stuff like Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Fat Boys and also the industrial music which spilled over into the 90s.
Also keep in mind that techno/industrial really spanned the late 80s into the middle 90s..
So here are a few of my favs-
Erasure Front242 DM New Order PetShopBoys OMD 808 State Cocteau Twins
Here is a great site for band names
Great list..I had forgotten some groups I liked.

80's music was awesome!!! I was born in '78, and I can remember watching all those videos on MTV when I was growing up. Everytime a song comes on from the 1980's, I can name the year and the artist no problem. Great thread Ragone15. Eighties music is the BOMB!!
