Yeah, it had almost nothing in common with the book.  MIT and the character names were about it.  Storyline waaaaay different.

 

It was good to see a decent movie about Blackjack though, but I think it would of been much better if they stuck with the book more.

 

 

I finally saw this last night. I liked it a lot, but I never read the book so maybe my opinion may change after I do.

 

why does everyone compare it with the book?

based on means , hey we heard guys from MIT had a blackjack team lets make a movie about a blackjack team from MIT

 

i liked the movie, funny at points, the ending was kinda dumb but overall it was pretty good, made we wanna count cards and win $...and see kate bosworth naked

the idea and concept was excellent and that's the driving force in this film.  the acting was horrible save kevin spacey, bosworth was a terrible choice to play a college wiz @ MIT, directing was weak, it was poorly done, it could have been much better

 

at the end of the day it's better than most of the trash that comes out now-a-days but it had the potential to be much much more
