The Cubs are coming off their first road trip of the year, where they tallied a total of 7 runs in 3 games. But those were in Cleveland, and the weather wasn't ideal baseball playing weather. 5 of those 7 runs, came yesterday too. The baby bears haven't had any issues vs. lefties, and McClanahan hadn't pitched since 2023, before his last start, where he went 4.2 IP and allowed 3 runs. Taillon was really good last year and have no reason to think he isn't average to above average again this year. But the Rays bats are lively against RHP so far. Scoring nearly 6 runs/game.
Waiting for line ups to come out for tonights games.

Wacha was impressive in his first outting, and gets an extra day of rest with the Royals using the 6 man rotation. Bobby Witt is going to start hitting eventually. Hell, most of the Royals line up is under performing at the moment, but we know their capabilities. They shouldn't have to muster much, as it will be chilly, and the Guardians bats have yet to show much capability. As a team, they are hitting under .200.
1* Cardinals/Nationals Over 8 -115
The Nats pitching staff has given up more runs than anyone else so far this year, but they've also scored the third most runs. No reason for those trends to stop today. The Cards offense has been a lot better than most people thought they would be. Jordan Walker is hitting the ball very hard. Burleson is driving people in. Weatherholt has been a great addition at the top of the line up. Pallante as been decent over his career, but nothing to write home about. The Cards pen is going to be a problem all year long, so they are always good to have when on an over.
1* Braves/Angles Under 7.5
Sale has been awesome as expected to start the year, and he goes against an Angels line up that hasn't fared well against lefties early in the year. It's a small sample size but the Angels are batting in the .180s as a team vs lefties. Soriano has been outstanding for the Halos, and thus far has better metrics than Sale, aside from walk rate. 3-2, 4-2 kinda game.
1* Philadelphia Phillies -116
Painter was awesome in his first MLB start, albeit vs the Nats. The Giants don't have much to worry about in their line up at the moment, so a repeat performance by him, in a very pitcher friendly park, is very possible. Houser wasn't bad in his debut this year either, but the Padres bats aren't awake yet, so that start could be a little misleading. The Phils bats are still hibernating it appears, but they have the dudes in their line up that can flip that switch, and then its over. I think we are buying low on the Phils here.
