What you expect to happen...high payroll teams vs. low payroll teams (the favs vs. the dogs) does NOT settle in until the warm weather hits - Mid June.
Before then (as you are witnessing today), MLB is bizzarro world. What can happen will happen in the early season. Things have not settled into their "perfect" world until after a few months.
It is a good time to test strategies, theories. A good time to "manage" bankroll accordingly.
Lastly, what gives on Saturday, usually takes back on Sunday. Its just the way things work. be mindful of that.
