Wednesday night's game between the Rangers and Cubs has been postponed due to rain at Wrigley Field.

The weather was ugly all day in Chicago and got even worse as game time approached. No makeup date has been announced. Carlos Villanueva was scheduled to start for the Cubs and Justin Grimm was on tap for Texas.

Shin-Soo Choo is not in the Reds' lineup Wednesday.

It's just a day off for the outfielder. Derrick Robinson will take Choo's spot in center field.

Adeiny Hechavarria was scratched from the Marlins' starting lineup on Wednesday due to a sore right elbow.

It's not clear when or how Hechavarria got injured, or how severe the ailment is. Chris Valaika will start at shortstop and bat eighth Wednesday vs. the Nationals.

Denard Span (flu) is not in Wednesday's lineup.

Span came down with the flu on Tuesday and is still experiencing some mild symptoms. He should be ready for Friday's series-opener against the Mets in New York.

Wednesday night's game between the Mets and Rockies has been postponed due to a Denver snowstorm.

Jon Garland was scheduled to make the start for Colorado and Jeremy Hefner was supposed to be on the bump for New York. A makeup date has not been set.

Giancarlo Stanton (shoulder) is expected to return to the Marlins' starting lineup Thursday in Cincinnati.

Stanton is missing a sixth straight game Wednesday due to a left shoulder contusion. The young slugger was batting just .167 with a .575 OPS in nine games before the injury but should be able to get his bat going quickly.

Peter Bourjos is not in the Angels' starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Twins.

It's just a day off for Bourjos, who is batting .220 with a .256 on-base percentage in 11 games. The Angels have not been pleased with his production at leadoff.

Harper was sent back to the team hotel in Miami on Tuesday because of flu-like symptoms. He felt much better when he arrived back at the ballpark on Wednesday afternoon. The 20-year-old outfielder is batting .320/.382/.640 with five homers and 10 RBI in 13 games.

Alexi Ogando will start as scheduled on Thursday against the Cubs despite Wednesday's rainout.

Justin Grimm will be skipped. The Cubs will push Carlos Villanueva, Jeff Samardzija and Edwin Jackson back a day. It's a break for Samardzija owners, as he'll now face a depleted Brewers lineup rather than the Rangers.

Padres placed OF Cameron Maybin on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 16, with a right wrist injury.

Maybin has dealt with wrist issues over the past two seasons, and obviously the Padres felt it was best to hold him out for at least a couple weeks after his most recent flare-up. Chris Denorfia and Will Venable should handle center field while Maybin is sidelined.

Matt Kemp is not in the Dodgers' lineup Wednesday.

It's just a day off for the slumping outfielder. Kemp was on the field for early batting practice prior to Wednesday's game and will be back out there on Friday in Baltimore. Skip Schumaker is playing center field Wednesday

No makeup date has been announced. The clubs have not revealed whether scheduled starters Tommy Hanson and Vance Worley will be pushed back to Friday or a later date.
