Since 1930 teams who have scored DD in game one have either won or lost by 1.
7-2 SU
That is very interesting. I remember the Red Sox crushed the Rockies 13-1 in Game 1 of the 2007 World Series and then barely won Game 2 by a score of 2-1.
Who else can recall some examples of this World Series trend?

I thought the trend posted in post #1 referred to nine Game 1 teams since 1930 who opened the Series by scoring 10 or more runs in a Game 1 win, and then went on to post a 7-2 record in Game 2 with all nine of those games being decided by one run. But that is not the case because smellybunty just pointed out that the Braves won Game 1 in 1996 by a score of 12-1 and followed that with a 4-0 win in Game 2.
