I think it is the most honest respectable sport where real athletes make amazing things happen. Cardinals with one strike in the world series come back to win.....fuckin magical.
I was too young but was anyone around for the Athletics 20 game win streak? Was it as cool as I imagine it??

On the flip side, this year's CHC is falling off a mountain right now. They can't even beat a little league team. So called billy goat curse has evolved into a plague...

I love baseball too its a great sport too. Although the umpire behind the plate in the Cardinals game was out of his mind. He called so many strikes, balls when cardinals had two outs. That was a disgrace to the game how many chances they gave the Cardinals to win that game. I'm not saying its not hard but when there is a runner on 2nd tipping pitches and the ump will not call strike 3 a major league player will end up getting a hit.
And I do remember the 20 game win streak which led to nothing but a playoff series loss.

I am constantly in awe of SS going across their body and hitting the 1st basemen 99 times out of 100, so routinely, so many times
Or how the one time they do mess up, the next man up will come through in the clutch and knock a homer to tie up the game when the inning should have clearly been over.

The problem with watching the games on TV is that we have no perspective. We get only the center field shot in order to inundate with ads for products which most of us will never buy.I miss the camera behind home plate, almost the sole camera in the 50's and 60's.
