Yea I lost.  Tough one for Col backers.  But how the hell is this guy a closer??  Dont give a damn what his reg season #'s were.  Guy had no balls in past two games.  Wouldnt challenge anyone.  Holy shit.  Threw meatballs.

Agreed. Some pitchers just can't handle the pressure of the playoffs...He's got some time now to think about how he single handedly blew their entire season.

I couldn't believe he was 35 of 37 in the reg season, had no idea he did that well.  But, facing the Phils top of the order is far from easy for anyone.

How was he a closer?  Because he saved 35 of 37 this year maybe?  Papelbon blew a 3 run lead, should he no longer be a closer?

You lost your bet, you're sour, we get it...it's called gambling for a reason.  If it was all a sure thing it wouldnt be considered gambling.

He nibbles because he doesnt have "overpowering stuff." He needs to hit corners and stay low in the zone. Thats how he pitches.

Nathan, Papelbon, Street, Franklin.... everyones been struggling.

All this crying is really senseless boys, just move on, next season Mr. Street will still be a closer because overall he wins and yes once in a while closers will lose here and there, I mean I haven't heard of any closer that never blew a save in their entire career...have you?...lol

...well he did blow 2 games in a row at home in the playoffs and struggled the previous time he was in the playoffs. Fluke? Do you feel confident in strapping your season on to that horse?

You lost your bet, you're sour, we get it...it's called gambling for a reason.  If it was all a sure thing it wouldnt be considered gambling.

hey rzagza, next time you suffer a numbing 1000-1 shot loss in the late innings or last seconds of a game, remind us to smack you upside the head while you're in the middle of trying to deal with the pain of losing a tough one.

What kind of gambler tells his fellow gambler "Oh, just get over it" mere minutes after suffering a loss that painful?  What's the matter with you?

I just looked up your Monday thread, which, like all your other threads, was a virtual ghost town.  Congratulations on cashing your incredibly brave one hundred dollar bet on the Phillies.  A whole hunski!

I agree with every mean thing that was said in this thread about Huston Street, and I'd just like to add that I'm pretty sure he's gay.  Not that there's anything wrong with that......

In Streets defense....He was very good earlier in the year. He was not the same pitcher after he got hurt late in the year. I do not know if he was pitching with pain or just lost his confidence.
YES HE IS A NIBBLER......THAT IS HIS M.O.
The guy does not have overpowering stuff so must nibble on the edges to be successful. He was very good at this early in the year again and not so good late.
The pitch to Howard that cost us the season may have been the most hittable pitch I have ever seen. The classic right down Broadway. Cannot think he had his normal control with where that thing was.
It was a great year for a mediocre team that to me the Phils exposed. I am a huge fan and hope we as a small market can patch some holes and compete.
I just do not think that our line up was instilling the fear into Philly fans that everytime we had to go through their line up I had.

    Mr Bator,

There is a lot wrong with homosexuality if you ever have read what the Bible says and/or believe in God! There is nothing "gay" about "aids" and dying before you reach 40!!!
