I'm on the worst streak of my life. Started losing a few, so I followed some well known cappers. Lost. tried 3 different systems. Lost. Flipped a coin. Lost. I very seldom bet a prop for an individual player. Over the last year, EVERY single time I bet for a player prop, they were injured and I lost. I'm now 5 for 5 for injured players over 10 months. I'm 2-22 over the last week and 0-6 tonight. Honestly, I'm in a conundrum. Do I continue to try and bet or just eat a can of shit losses. I feel like the biggest cooler to myself.

Sadly, most people are like you, but will never admit it. The average gambler loses singles all the time, but they love their own brand so much that their wins feel like doubles and triples, and fool themselves into thinking they are smarter than they are.
If you don't believe me, make book for about 6 months. You will quickly see.
A very small % can keep their heads above water, and an even smaller % can actually do that consistently enough to turn a regular profit. If you truly like the hobby of capping (the assessments, angles, numbers, nerdy parts of it), then use betting amounts that you don't get hurt by. If you are only gambling for fun, then the record doesn't matter, you would have probably lost the money in a slot machine or blackjack table anyway. Some of us do this as a long term hobby, some are just taking shots.
Either way, 2-22 is brutal and I believe anyone would require a reset. Maybe for you 24 bets in a week is too many. Maybe paper trade for a bit (keep track of the bets you would have made, but do not make them.....NO MATTER how much you are in love with it) and then see how a 2-4 week period did, to see if you were just ice cold, or might truly just be bad at this. It is ok to be bad at it. Admitting that much to yourself makes you capable of thinking on a higher level.
Unit sizes are of paramount importance.
That's what she said.

Everyone go through streaks. Defensive money management may help to ride out losing streak until winning streak returns. Hard to go bankrupt by betting percentage of bankroll. Stake decreases with losses and increases with profits.

Money management and taking breaks is the only advice you need. MLB is impossible at time's because there are like 500 games in 1 season so best to just pick your spots. There is no one person on this forum betting this sport everyday and absolutely killing it. So that should speak for itself. If you can find that one person please list the name

For one, take a break. Two, focus on one and two teams, for example teams with 9-0 run, you want to fade them, three look for underdogs teams with 1-9 you want to bet them. Oakland, Detroit and Cubs, watch these teams ... Good luck!

Also watch a full series without betting it, three teams then look ahead who they face next, also look at public money, cause this day and age of sports betting pretty much luck..

Before you even start gambling for real money you should have some sort of large sample size of games documented to see if you can even be profitable. 2500-5000 for example. If you have that and you lose a few games which will always happen you'll at least know in the long run it will even out. Because you don't You're panicking after losing a couple games and making bets on props etc following multiple cappers which will just tailspin you further. Gl

Flipping coins, looking for a signal (I.e. saw someone wearing a dodgers hat) , isn’t good rationale. Take every sport and think about what are the key drivers . Baseball it’s pitching in my opinion so look at pitchers, starting pitchers as they set the tone for the game. Come up with ways to evaluate pitchers . I use sagarin.com You always want to know what the opening lines are, I use madduxsports.com for that. Once you come up with what you believe are the key drivers and the opening lines , record the numbers and the lines in a spread sheet . History repeats and that’s what you’re trying to do . Unless you record things and have something to hang your hat on your guessing, which is a greater gamble . It takes effort and time but it pays off . Bol to you .

Just bet enough that it feels good like finding that unexpected $40 in a pants pocket you're getting ready to put in the laundry. Losses should sting a little but not to the point you're scrambling to make your car note or mortgage. If that's $10 or $25 so be it.
As long as they pretend to pay me I will pretend to work

Advice from someone who has been betting since 2012 is that at first he thought he was going to make a living from it and then found out he was addicted in 2020 to the Covid stop.
Since then, he has been battling gambling addiction. I've had multiple breaks with the longest being 6 months in 2021. I've taken multiple 30-60 day breaks in the last year. I made self-exclusions from several bookmakers.
This year I finally feel like I'm in control. I recognized that I am addicted and I am fully aware that betting is not about making money, but about having fun while watching a game.
I don't put too little money to be embarrassed, nor big money so that I get adrenaline to the point of going to hell to lose or a violent injection of pleasure in the brain so that it has the same effect as cocaine in my brain.
So today I only place bets on games that I'm actually watching, with average units of 200$ that's how I'm at an average of 2-3 bets per week for the last 6 months.
Everyone is addicted to gambling. But I try to be a controlled addict.
