Notes: -Vogelsong gave up a moonshot to Stanton, which seems like a trend lately as he's warming up, but other than that he pitched very well and escaped a big jam in the 5th. Got a little unlucky to leave two guys on base and have them both score, but the offense played well and seemed to put the ball in places the Fish couldn't get to -Giancarlo Stanton's power is finally coming around, he is scary but he doesn't have much help. Hanley fouled a ball off his knee and just didn't look good from then on. Something to watch without Bonifacio and there aren't too many threats off the bench while LoMo isn't hitting

Arizona ML (-120) vs. Milwaukee -Was looking for an Arizona series play, instead I'll get involved here and won't have to sweat out Greinke making the 3rd game of the series the rubber match. Gallardo can be really good at times and there's no doubt I fear him tossing a gem, but Ian Kennedy should be able to handle the Brewers lineup featuring four dangerous RH bats and five non-threats. Braun is clearly the ringleader, but after him it drops off to Lucroy then guys on the downside of their career in Ramirez and Hart. Hart at 1B is a defensive problem, while the MIL outfield will be lightning fast. Arizona has been on my list a lot this year due to underperforming my expectations and struggling at home, but I think this is a team they can take advantage of and get on the right track. St. Louis ML (+105) vs. Philadelphia -Was looking for Cliff Lee a bit thinking Philly was moving from insanely overvalued for the past four years to undervalued until I saw this line. Lohse is inconsistent and has had some injury concerns this year and throughout his career, but the number was too far off for me to let it go without getting involved. I like the StL bullpen better than Philly besides Pap at the end, I also think tonight's high-scoring loss will restore the fear of the Phillies hitters and that will help the Cards pitching staff. The price and last AB combination made this play, but I think the Cards have a better lineup even without Berkman and Lohse should be able to limit the Phils.

Cliff Lee has struggled this year ...well his run support...or lack their off...Lohse has been great 5-1 era 2.91....yet he is the under dog at home...why

GWarner, I've been waiting a week for Gomez's turn in the Tribes rotation, but now that I see the pitching match up, might just back of and cheer my boyz on instead. Danks was replaced by a LH minor league pitcher who's already faced the Indians earlier this month. Quintanna pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up a couple of hits. A lot of lefties in their line up, but looks as if Acta's going to be able to counter with a RH / DH to replace a dinged up Hafner. Once I see a line up I'll make a decision. Just love the way the Tribe responded against the Tigers and sent a message to their fans at the same time. Since C Perez called out the fans, attendance increased, the park was crazy for the Tigers series. It will be interesting when they get home, if still leading the division, does the attendance continue to climb? Sure would be nice to start selling out that beautiful park, like the glory days of the 90's. BOL on all today's action.

Fair question, Chico.
Lee is still viewed as one of the best in the game, and I can't say I disagree with that. The team around him is the problem as there are a bunch of holes in the lineup without utley and Howard.
The Phils have hit the ball very well recently against rhp, but Lohse when throwing well is very difficult to smack around. If its a low-scoring, tight game I like having last at bats and that means Lohse is on. If its a high scoring close game then that tells me the cards got to Lee. A lot of this play was based on the price as I was originally hoping to get a decent price tag on cliff, but based on the team and the bullpen plus playing in Busch i just can't support giving odds to the home team cuz they're superior.

GL today.......I played Zona and agree with your thoughts.
Still considering St Louis but haven't pulled the trigger yet........I have some concerns about the Cardinal offense as well. Maybe they aren't warranted, but it's in the back of my mind.

Watched most of the game yesterday and you're right that was a huge series. Still pissed the Tigers lost the game fister started for me, but the Tigers have two power hitters and then nothing else. Their rotation is crap and they have no team speed. They're making a case that you have to be well-rounded and they are the opposite of that...
As for the Tribe, they are extremely LH heavy and that's not a good thing with how many LH starters are appearing in the league. I don't know this new guy but Danks normally has success against them and didn't this year either because they're improving or he's lost out there (little bit of both probably). I am waiting to see if their bullpen is as good as it was last year because it was a major strongpoint. McAllister sucks but they are surviving with him. Still a question mark but your boys have performed well so far.
Hit em straight buddy...

Concerns are there about Lohse, the depleted lineup StL has and lee throwing a gem but IMO the cardinals should only be dogged at home to Texas barring a huge starters mismatch
