Hey guys,
Well I usually don't do this but I'm going to lock in a bet tonight before the line goes haywire on me during the day. First, a quick recap of my season so far ...

* Boston -109 (Matchbook)

I can't believe this line. Unless Wakefield has an undisclosed hernia I don't know about, it's an absolute steal. Sort of like going to your gas station and seeing a Friday special of 99 cents a gallon.
Wakefield is lights out against the Rays, especially at Tropicana Field, where he has a 3.08 ERA the last three years. I don't trust Garza in this spot even though he has pitched decent in limited duty against Boston. He is coming off an interesting injury and the Red Sox could very well give him a rude awakening. The Bosox Bombers are nuking teams 1-9 this year. Even Julio Lugo is pulling his best Ted Williams impersonation. There really isn't anybody you can pitch around no matter who the starters are. And Big Papi is heating up too. I like the Rays, they are on a nice little streak and their bullpen has been phenomenal but this line is a joke. Pound it before it gets too late.

FYI 'm on the other side of Boston tonight for no other reason than my system picked it ....so no rationale..and I did expect Bosotn to be a much larger favorute than they are also...

Picking against my boys for the second day in a row, ouch. Like I was telling my friend yesterday, these bets really screw with your head during the course of the game. But this is a business for me, not a game.
And as such, my objectivity tells me Paul Byrd is a softball pitcher against the Yankees to the tune of a 7+ XERA over the past three years. Yes, he did his job against them in the playoffs last year but even then surrendered 2 homers and 6 hits in five innings. It could have been bad. Pettitte, meanwhile, is very solid against the Tribe. Also, the New York pen is far better than Cleveland's right now. And the lineups are very different. The Tribe hitters, who were solid against lefties last season, have yet to figure these guys out. As for the Yankees, we all know they can score a billion runs on any occasion.

The Tigers are on fire while the Angels are skidding a little bit after getting pummeled for most of the Boston series. The lineups are pretty similar in anticipated production but the value swing occurs with the starting pitching as Santana is significantly worse historically against the Tigers than Robertson is against the Angels. Throw in some home field advantage, and we've got ourselves a play.

I love the Red Birds in this spot. Looper is a down right filthy Astors killer, compiling a 2.54 XERA against them the last 3+ years. Chacon is very respectable against St. Louis but it's going to be hard to offset Looper and the Cardinals bullpen, which is better than Houston's. I also like the Cards offense a little better than Houston's.

Just looked at the rest of the slate and I'm going to have to pass on the rest of the games.

Sort of a tough card for me to make money on because of the even number of plays and favs but I hope to take 3 of 4. I will probably be away from my computer until really late tonight so until then, I hope everyone has a great start to their weekends.

Just came back home after a long night to see this disaster. First ever 0-4 card and all of them by a combined 5 runs. Unreal. Thanks for the support. I'm going to get claw out of this sob setback I just set for myself.
