I believe in your scenario the chase should just end with a loss. It wouldn't make sense otherwise, since your talking about chasing a specific thing. 

I don't like those kind of chases. By game 3 u may be totally against what your having to play. And your juice would be higher. My risk is well defined

 I'm just riding along myself. It may end with Chase 26 or it may end at Chase 500. I do plan on only doing one, so when this does end thats it for me. Unless it runs for a ridiculously long time.
