Ohtani, Freeman, Muncy, Tucker and Rushing all hit left-handed, and Tommy Edman will bat from the left side against Aaron Nola. That gives Los Angeles six hitters attacking Nola from his weaker side. Nola has allowed a .911 OPS to left-handed hitters this season, compared with .717 against right-handers, and lefties have crushed his four-seam fastball.

The Dodgers also upgraded from Tuesday. Teoscar Hernandez is back, and Dalton Rushing replaces Eliezer Alfonzo at catcher. So instead of the lineup falling apart after the top six, they have Teoscar seventh, Edman eighth and Rushing ninth

I haven’t locked it in yet, but I’m definitely interested in the Dodgers today. Eric Lauer has pitched much better since joining LA, and the Dodgers have won all seven games he’s appeared in. On the other side, Aaron Nola hasn’t been sharp, he’s had trouble with the home run, and this Dodgers lineup is loaded with left-handed power. Philadelphia is also missing some depth at the bottom of its order. At a reasonable moneyline price, the Dodgers look like the right side to me.

In 9 starts at home this season, Nola is 0-3 with a 6.50 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, and opponents are hitting 312 against him. 

On the flip side, Lauer’s ERA is a bit inflated due to pitching poorly during the day. In 6 day games, he’s 1-3, with a 7.00 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP. He’s much better at night, where he’s 3-2, with a 3.63 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. His away ERA is also more than a point lower than home. 4.14 compared to 5.45.

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but it’s a strong lean for me. BOL with whatever you decide

Not a lard ass!

He gives up only 17% line drives, pretty low, and key. He is on the fly ball side though, slightly. What's the wind?

Philly has hit fly ball guys at 100 sOPS+, dead average. Batting .241

Rushing has caught Lauer 6 times, more than any other catcher this year.
