Can someone explain...

...how someone like Tex who has played baseball for probably his entire life, can't push a bunt down the 3rd base line with that shift on??? It's not like Verlander is pounding him inside...he's all over the place. No discipline at all

I cant tell you how many time Adam Dunn could have started rallys and kept them going if he bunted...

The shift is so severe, that all they have to do is get the ball down and its a single no doubt....

Yes, I realize they are homerun hitters, but bunt often enough and they will take the shift away opening holes for hits the rest of the season....

The 3rd baseman is playing short-stop or even closer to 2nd base...

If they bunt to the right side of the pitcher they can walk to 1st base

I just started a similar thread.  Totally agree.  it blows my mind that someone who plays baseball for a living can't make contact in that general direction.

Bunting isn't easy, but this doesn't even have to be a bunt, just a blocked swing to that side of the field.  Crazy they can't do that with a runner on first.

Guessing the Yanks don't practice bunting much... that whole Brownx Bomber thing.
