If there is a man on 1st and 2nd for example, and the current batter pops up in fair territory, lets say 3rd baseman or short stop would be able to make an easy catch... why won't the person who is going to make the catch try to "intentionally" let the ball drop and induce a double play of some sort since runners will be required to move one base forward? I see runners not running towards next base when they assume it is an easy catch so if it is dropped then I guess it is an easy two out?
