ESPN game/1st GAME ON THE BOARD

Paul Maholm 3-3 3.08 era vs. Bronson Arroyo 2-3 3.95 era

This game will get the most action of the day.Bettors have NEVER been COMFORTABLE with putting their money on Arroyo,especially against good teams.The books know this and make Arroyo an UNCOMFORTABLE favorite here.Most will jump on the Braves without question,because they get a good team at plus money on the biggest game of the day.Good luck to them.

Reds hitting a clean .279 off lefties this season so far & have the 2nd most runs in the NL at home.

I like the way you roll.

I would tread lightly on Cincinnati. Atlanta has been extremely fortunate at the beginning of most their road trips and looked pretty good today. Wouldn't surprise me if they sweep their first series of this long road trip. And fade towards the end of it. Witch seems to be the trend up to this point in the season. GL

I'm on the Reds as well, but I am waiting to see if B Phillips is going to be for sure in the lineup with his "eye" injury or whatever the hell it is.

Waiting for a lineup card is a waste of time.  It gives you zero edge if a guy is playing or not.

It absolutely means something here. Phillips has great numbers against Maholm. His replacement is the wonderful hitting Cesar Izturis. Bruce and Votto have performed poorly against Maholm. Phillips said after the game he plans on being in the line up today so I don't think there is a lot of concern that he won't be in, but he does make a difference. With both teams having good bullpens an edge against the starter has a little more value to me in this game than some others. The Braves players have had some success against Arroyo, McCann is returning tonight and has owned Arroyo, although being his first game back without a rehab assignment, one would have to think there is some rust there. Best of luck.

Unless you have at least 25 at bats vs a pitcher it means nothing so McCann having 18 holds little weight and goes for the rest of the Braves lineup outside of Upton who is hitting .231.  You're right about Phillips with 51 at bats but the bottom line if that is a reason why you are betting on a team you are in trouble.  

A pitchers effectiveness changes every year so if he has dominant stuff five years ago how does that hold weight on todays game or the at bats you hold so much weight on?  You should never bet against Halladay because everyones numbers will be awful against him even though he is a shell of himself.  Means nothing at the end of the day.  Best of luck.

I tend to pay attention to the past splits at 20 plate appearances, you use 25 AB's, just different criteria. 4 home runs in 24 plate appearances is not something to dismiss in its entirety. Of course present form means more than distant past results, but I try to look at everything that I value and make an informed decision. Too many people make the mistake of relying too heavily on the past, or too heavily on the starting pitcher, or don't take bullpens and usage into enough consideration etc etc...they neglect to take into account that there are many different facets to the game of baseball. I am not one of those people. Best of luck whichever way you go with this game, I am leaning Reds.  Ugly baseball card all around today in my early assessments, may lay off the day entirely.

Line dropped to -108. Braves are healthier now and scary.

However Reds are good at home

good luck and be careful.  McCann makes his season debut he is 8 for 19 w/ 4 bombs against Arroyo.  That being said I like the pick but don't love it.  Good Luck!

Evan Gattis making his first career MLB start in LF. He only had 49 put outs in his short minor league career in the outfield, 1error, should be interesting to see how he handles the position.

Not sure if the public is backing the Braves. Cincy is very good at home and is only -110? Sounds like they threw the bait for you to take the Reds

not true. he's has been doing rehabs assignments . 4 homers with the rome braves i believe
