Thread requirement is the Starter is responsible for the complete game regardless of time in game and will get the W or L just as we who wager on it get a W or L on our wager Ties in 5 inn are just that Pushes

steveo; charging a starter with a loss if he was ahead or tied at 5 innings seems a little severe. That would make him responsible for bullpen performance he had no control over. Why not keep your record as 5 innings or whenever he exited the game? If you are playing 5 innings, which I do too, that would seem to be more indicative of probable future performance. Just my 2 cents worth. BOL of course, we are in this together to an extent.

Key to me i tie the starter to my WAGER and i have been doing it for years,even more so to a 5 inn wager as you know i play a lot of 5 inn plays. but if i play a 9 inn wager i place the blame on him as in the long run it normally balances out as in some cases the relievers and team will bail him out of some losses too

I really don&#x27;t know if it evens out in the long run but I do know there are guys I will back 5 innings only because their bullpens and offenses are not good enough to count on for a bail out. Let&#x27;s both try to get a better feel for that this year. I would be willing to track it stat wise except that I already track so many thing unavailable elsewhere I really don&#x27;t have the time, but maybe one of your fans would be willing? Never hurts to ask for a volunteer. If (insert name) is already a fan of yours and tailing you he might be willing to do something to help you too.

After thinking about it i usually post both 5 and 9 inn results,although i usually fault the starter for both losses only because they do not always stop pitching after 5 inn although our 5 inn wager stops

I always record both anyway so i can always break them out easily enough

Just did all of Mondays plays and i need to find an easier way as 3 hours is wayyy too much time for this

I'll go wacky in 2 weeks with all this work

MLB is a stat driven animal and to be successful you must apply a lot of information regarding a play as you must evaluate the players along with the team

I usually do not care what happens in 6-9 innings as for me its the two top starters vs each other,but i do keep records to complete the contest.What i do not follow is the relievers and all the changes that happen after 5 inn with subs and managerial changes and all the rest involved in the final game

MastermindI can not see how Harrison and Texas does not win this contestUnderstand in the stats of runs allowed he had others pitching some of those other innings from 6-9 as he did not in most cases pitch the entire game but he had the support of the staff to assist him in getting the win just as the other starter had his staff to back him up To me it all washes out for bothThat&#x27;s why i place the runs allowed for the game on the Starter as it gets too difficult for one person to break out every pitcher who enters a gameHey this is a hobby for me to win a few bucks not a vocation although some times it feels like a JOB

I know, well what about Norris5 inn 2/4/4/2/0/1/0/1/0/3/10/4/3/3/2/3/9/1/0/1/2/6/3/1/0/26-9    0/0/0/7/3/1/0/2/4/3/1/0/3/1/0/0/4/4/8/5/1/1/1/2/5/3as you can see his staff and he show a lot more bad pitching inn 6-9 than texas startersnotice that 10 runs allowed in his 11th start (9-13 ) were badalong with # 2 and 3 as well as others that stand outI have this for every starter in both leagues
