If you were Condit wouldn't you try and dodge any fight that wasn't GSP.

Last week it was reported by Condit’s management team that if he was to beat Diaz for the interim title he would likely stay active, defending the belt once before potentially facing GSP. However, Condit’s manager, Malki Kawa, changed his tune on those claims earlier today.

“At this point, (a rematch) is not something we’re looking to do,” said Kawa, in an interview with MMAFighting. “We’re looking for Georges. People forget, Carlos waited a long time to this get fight. I think clearly and decisively, he won the fight. All of the opinions that matter scored Carlos as winner.”

what payday are you talking about(200k+ppv revenues)? i dont think dana guaranteed condit anything other than the right to face gsp. maybe he makes 150k in that fight. he can easily make that again fighting diaz in a rematch.

the only fighters guaranteed paydays were brock, gsp, chuck and silva.

this isnt boxing. dana is the boss and you fight when he tells oyu to fight.

condit doesn't owe diaz a rematch in any way. i was on diaz - he lost fair and square. sure condit ran a bit, but he out struck the struck by atleast double.

i would think condit would consider a fight before GSP, because he would have a much better chance to defend his belt against someone who isn't GSP

many fighters say this or that and end up doing otherwise. its no crime or shame. im a big diaz fan and actually grew up in the 209. and anyone from the 209 will tell you that it is not nearly as bad as the diaz brothers make it out to be.

But the winner of a fight that has to rematch doesn't have much to gain. If they win, big deal deal, they already beat the guy. It doesn't improve your status. If you lose, it's like the first fight never happened

agreed. and i think that most everyone including myself bet on penn thinking that penn simply took him too lightly the first fight. the difference between penn/edgar and diaz/condit is that the rematch would not go to the scorecards. diaz, either by way of ko or getting ko'd, would make sure of that.

that fourth round edgar ko of maynard was incredible. grey, a full-blown 155, looked like he was in utter amazement after he realized that he had just been ko'd by frankie.

edgar is such a stud that he could probably make weight and dominate 145 but chooses the challenges at lw.
