Here we go. Great card. Few vet Dogs I think have a chance. Shit meets wall, hope it sticks.
1. Parlay: Not Bendo Inside (-572), Mike Easton (-240)
3 units to win 2 units.
2. BJ Penn (+250)
1 unit to win 2.5 units
3. Shogun Rua (+200)
1 unit to win 2 units
I think the parlay is a fall back for even if the Dogs don't come through. The favorites are legitimate favorites. But those numbers are high. Either way those go, Penn and Shogun are both dangerous...and at the very least are hard to put away. I laugh at people that believe Penn's "in shape" rants before every fight. But I will fall for it this time. Penn looks at the very least mad. Not sure why he would come back and take on a guy like Rory if he wasn't committed. Why come back to lose to a kid? Rory has beat pretty much no one relevant even though he was beating Condit for most of that fight. I love me some Gustaf, but Shogun always has a chance, and is tough to finish.
I also really like Bendo, Rory, and to a less extent Gustaf all by dec. If the favs come thru I think they go the distance. Bendo has become a decision machine, and Nate is one of the toughest to finish in the whole sport and has cardio. Rory has decisioned some guys before that he should have finished. Penn only gets finished by cardio, I would say if he can hold on vs. Diaz that he can hold on for 3 rounds with Rory. And lately, Shogun is just a tough SOB. He took everything Hendo had. Gustaf is capable of landing big 1 punch shots, but I would guess he isn't looking for a brawl but more of breaking him down from outside ala Jon Jones. Shogun has a strong chin regardless.
