I may be a bit bias here. However, I think Gil is the most overrated LW in the world right now. Gil isn't a bum by any means... however, for this guy to be considered one of the top guys in the world or even top 5 you would think that in light of some of his recent fights you would think of a stand out performance he's had. I watch the Thompson and Masvidal and I get a little lost. I am expecting this guy to come out and show the world how great he is and instead I am seeing sub-par performances from a guy that's screaming he's the best in the world.
What I see is Benson as being bigger, faster, stronger, more athletic. I give him the nod in the stand up between his straights and kicks... and to be honest, after watching the Thompson fight I give him the advantage on the ground as well. I would say that Gil had a puncher's chance... however, due to Benson's chin I just don't really see him landing some shocking hook that wins him the fight. All in all I see Benson doing what he does best and taking the fight into deep water, being the more conditioned fighter and winning a 49-46 unam decision.
Benson 5.5u to win 2u
THOMPSON VS DIAZ
Nate and his brother still share one huge problem. That's wrestlers with descent sub defense. After watching what Thompson was able to do with an injured knee vs Gil, combining that with Diaz's past struggles with wrestlers I had to make this a play. If Josh can take minimal damage eating Diaz's strikes and close the gap, pinning him to the cage and dragging him down to the ground, I really like Josh's chances here. Had Nate not performed so well vs Jim Miller this would be a much larger play. May consider adding to it depending on how the week goes prior to this.
Thompson .7u to win 1.12
Probably try to release a few more plays later on in the week, more than likely sat during the mid day. I will try to get any spur of the moment plays on here as I make them as well.

Starting to look into Bowling vs Anthony N. more. I expect Bowling to come out strong throw bombs and try to pin him to the cage and take him down. However, when the throws he leaves himself open to be countered... also interested to see how he is going to look at weigh ins... this being his first fight at 155. Last time I seen him fight he sort of gassed at 170. If Njokuani can withstand the first round... he is probably going to finish him.
Joey Ben might be a big play. Hate laying that kind of juice, but I just don't see how Uyenoyama gets it to the ground, even if Joey is pretty sub savvy, I just see Joey keeping it standing and banging him out with superior speed and power. Joey is sort of caught in the same area that Mendes is to where they are the second best guy in a weight class that really doesn't have anyone to fight.
Vinny vs Phil Davis... I mean obviously Vinny seen something a while ago, the kid has been calling Phil out for a while now. I feel like if more ppl knew who Vinny was this line would be a little closer. Vinny is the best BJJ practitioner in the division and has been training w/wrestlers... this will b the first time in Phil's career that if the fight goes to the ground he won't have the advantage in any position... I would be very surprised if he shot a true takedown early. Almost expect him to just strike and cage grapple until late in rds to avoid getting subbed... leaning Vinny due to value.

How the F*ck do win a fight in which u didn't do n e thing? U had to grapple with him cuz he hurt u on the feet... then when u get on top finally in third rd he almost subs u and reverses u over. Legit Carmont did nothing the whole fight... landed like 1 punch. lol

Yeah I almost did some crazy garbage and put in a 5u play on Joey B just because i really didn't see him taking damage this fight... almost did the same thing with Faber last week and then thought about making Mendes a 4-5u play instead of just being mad that larkin lost and putting it in for 2u.
I am really going to start looking into to these guys that are -500 (sounds silly to say) but jsut guys that are terrible match ups for the other guys. As in when the fighters have very similar styles just one fighter is obviously light yrs better in every area. The only problem is most of those guys are going to b the Alpha Male guys because they are all top 2 in their lower weight classes that aren't as talent laiden.
