Cain's been sidelined so long it's crazy. Hate having champions that never defend their belts. Hunt vs Werdum should be an exciting fight.

Werdum wins this easily, IMO. Cordeiro has done so much with this guy. Werdum trains stand up with Anderson, Machida, and Wanderlei. Hunt's striking is great against guys with slow head movement and footwork - Nelson, Big Foot, Struve, Big Ben. Hunt has to lose 40 lbs on short notice and has to fight at altitude. If Werdum gets it down it's over. If he drags it out, Werdum gets it. Hunt just has to run in and throw bombs.

I liked Werdum against Cain but in this fight, well I gotta see a line before i go jumping. Don't disagree about slow guys standing in front of Hunt, Kongo moved around and got caught. Werdum world class BJJ needs to get this to the ground!!!!!!

Hunt has about 10-13 min. to stay off the ground and catch Werdum. Even a decent strike from this fire plug will end this fight instantly.

At probably fairly long odds considering short notice, i like Hunt.

This is the biggest fight of his life and there is not much strat. and diverse training in his prep. for a fight anyway, just TD def. and fists....only the weight cut/cardio issues are any big deal.

Spot on Keven!!! Lets be honest JDS is the 2nd best in this division!!! Kinda feel for Werdum, he has to adjust to a totally different guy while Hunt always has the same plan. Werdum has great cardio, Hunt zero, lol. I remember everybody loved Nelson against Hunt, Hunt loves the underdog role!!!

    Txs 29

I cashed nice with Hunt vs Nelson cause Nelson has 7-8 min. cardio in him and Hunt much more then that considering he went 5 rounds with Bigfoot a little over a year ago.

You may be selling Hunts cardio short a little...he looked fresh as a daisy halfway through the 2nd round when he KOed nelson and the afor mentioned Bigfoot fight speaks for itself.

The short notice will hurt him some, but i remember after the Nelson fight he was still thinking he could somehow fight in the aussie card coming up, so he prob. did not get too out of shape with that possibility out there.

Hunt said he was 305 before boarding the plane to Mexico Keven. I was comparing Hunt/Werdum cardio. Hunt cut 18lbs in a day for the Nelson fight. I agree with O though, altitude could be a factor!!!

The line got set by one book at Werdum -260 Hunt +200 today. I have a sneaky feeling, just based on what I've read on the main mma boards, that this may be about the best you'll get with Hunt.

Hunt denied that 18# cut at the post fight presser, he said 9# but who knows, when your that big not eating and drinking very little for 2 days, one could lose 25#

Did not see the 305# but considering the situation even if he missed weight it would not be a big blowup, but he will make it...thats only about 15% of his body weight which is inline % wise that most guys cut anyway, but they usally have a little longer.

Never thought of altitude,ya thats def. a factor, i guess thats why he is going out early, to get acclamated to it as much as possible.

He has to make 265 in order for the (interim) title to be up for grabs. It's not a huge cut though for a guy that size. Him heading out to Mex now is good too.

People have to remember though that this isn't the same Werdum from Strikeforce. This isn't the same guy who fought ubereem or JDS. His striking looks better every fight and on the last one, he dominated Browne for 25 minutes.

The fight is for an interim title since Cain can't stay healthy.

I agree with the 25 minute control over Browne, easy money that night. Won't be hard for Werdum to find his range against Hunt either!!!
