Thursday 7/24 Saratoga Race 8

#3 Goats on a Tree ML 10-1

Been waiting for this one.

Here's a breakdown of the race as I see it...

#1 has been away since September. Franco gets up for the 1st time on this girl for Chad Brown. She was previously trained by Christophe Clement & has won 2 of 12.

#2 ships in from Churchill & ran 3rd in her last try to #7 Proctor who ran 2nd. Hasn't won in a long time going 2 for 18.

#3 is my play. This girl has won 5 of 13 including 3 in a row & Saez gets onboard. Impressive 13-5-1-4 career record. Won by 4 in the slop last year at the SPA. Think Saez will try to steal the race on the lead. I don't expect to get 10-1 today.

#4  well bet in her last when she ran 2nd & picks up Lezcano for Linda Rice's brother Kevin. Doesn't seem to like the 1 1/16th distance running 6th in both tries. Lezcano on the turf is a factor.

#5 has been dull in her last 3 but has strong connections with Prat/Brown/Klaravich & is the 8/5 chalk here. Drops into Allowance company after running in stakes company against Sacred Wish & Gina Romantica. Very Dangerous sitting off the pace here. She'll be coming after my girl #3 Goats on a Tree.

#6 this girl will be in tough today for Tom Amoss. Has won her only try at this distance but that was at Sam Houston.

#7 lightly raced with a 4-2-1-0 record & picks up Irad. This girl won her first 2 races. Was rank in her last try but still ran a decent 2nd @ 3-1. 

We have a small 7 horse field here & I see a 3-7-5 finish

Tired badly at the top of the stretch. Disappointing to say the least.

#7 Proctor looked impressive winning from behind with Irad.
