Just learned that Julien Leparoux is moving his tack to Cali for "better opportunities." So I did a little research: he's had only 82 mounts so far this year, which is about 15 mounts a month. Can't survive on that. Leparoux IMO has always been considered a TOP 20 jockey but now we have all these young studs kicking him to the backside & working horses in the morning. I also thought of him as a Prima Donna but can't remember an incident when I put him in that category. Maybe it was an interview after he either won or lost a race.
So I looked at some other average jocks & wondered why they have more mounts than him & found Alex Archard with 197, Frank Alvarado 218. Even Dylan Davis who was sidelined for weeks after a spill has 235.
Most shocking to me is that he's only 42 & not an exciting entity right now.
Got 2 favorite horses running tomorrow with Burnham Square & a horse takethecannolis turned us on to in Percy's Bar. Both will be racing @ Churchill.

Did a quick review of Aqueduct & Churchill & found a couple of things interesting.
Asmussen has a possible 5-1 Double tomorrow owning the horses & his son Keith riding. Anyone know how to find out the win % of trainer owned horses? Would love to see that data.
Noticed the name of John Brunetti as an owner of #4 For the Win in the 3rd race & the name rang a bell. He's the son of John Brunetti Sr. who owned Hialeah Racetrack. His kid is sitting on one of the most expensive parcels of land that developers would kill for. She's a 1st timer so who knows? Has a couple of nice recent works.
Race 5 has 4 of the 7 entered owned by the trainers.
Race 6 has an owner I follow in Joel Pilloti & now has his runners trained by Kinnon LaRose. Who? Ok, first of all, he's dude. I haven't heard that 1st name before. So he's taking over the training duties of retiring Tom Amoss & he was left with some fine stock with win % of 19%. He worked as top assistant for Amoss so the transition looks smooth so far. They have a 2 year old filly MSW in #3 Energy Flows. ML 10-1
Race 9 has #5 Percy's Bar the 7/5 favorite. If you haven't see her race check her out. Tons of heart! Playing her with #3 La Rascasse & #7 Point of Reference.
Race 10 has one of my favorite in #1 Burnham Square. Jockey Brian Hernandez is only winning at a 13% rate but he fits this gelding like a glove,

Making a small exacta box with the Ortiz brothers @ Delaware: Race 5 box 6-12; Race 6 box 3-8; Race 12 box 2-9. There would have been 2 more plays for the brothers but Baffert scratched both of his entries. So we end up with a $12 play more for just shits & giggles.
Scratches today @ Monmouth have made the small fields smaller. Tough to make some bucks there today.
At times I'll check to see what jocks got bounced off a horse due to scratches. Franco has 2 fewer mounts @ Aqueduct today. Does that make him any more lively on his other mounts? We'll see...
At Churchill I mentioned Race 5 having owner/trainers entered 4 in the field of 7 until this morning when 3 trainers scratched leaving 4 to race & that sucks. In Race 6 I'm playing #3 Energy Flows who has taken over the barn of Amoss in a nice field of 10 Maidens. In Race 8 the heavy favorite #9 Zambezi scratched making this a small Linda Rice exacta box of 1-10.

Corey Lanarie has announced his retirement at the end of this Churchill meet.
Now he just needs a couple of trainers to set him up with a some winners to send him off to a nice retirement. The dude has won over 5,000 races.
Aqueduct closes June 28th. There's nothing pretty about Aqueduct. It's gritty & functional. She's seen better days so to speak. Any idea what jockey has raced the most over the Aqueduct surface?
The Mig......Richard Migliorie ..he made 2,238 trips over the track.
