Hello Covers Community! Well, after decades of going to Saratoga, I will again skip Travers Day. I will be heading back for closing week and this will be my second trip up there this season. If you haven’t visited Saratoga…it is a MUST!
My handicapping is complete for the Travers. I have felt that this year’s crop of 3 year olds is sub par, at best. None of the “top tier” colts have shown me that special something. There is one running Saturday that might change everything. And it’s not “the wise guy” horse, Sea Strike.
Where is Commandment here? He’s not in the Travers because his owners and his trainer may have an Ace up their sleeve. Cox has entered Leading Change in this prestigious race after just two lifetime starts. I have watched both of his wins and I see a colt that has the potential to kiss this field goodbye. The potential. The potential. I think all the horses in the Traverse have reached their potential. Not Leading Change. I see that possibly happening Saturday around 6:35 EDT. As much as Manny Franco is on board, so am I. Yep, my pick is Leading Change.
Good luck all!
