AQUEDUCT RACE 9 #1 BANK FRENZY ML 7/5
KEENELAND RACE 3 #2 GOATS ON A TREE ML 9/2
6 scratches in this 13 horse field killed our price from 9/2 to 4/5 & #2 Goats on a Tree won by about 15 lengths in the slop. This filly was ready to run & loved the muddy track. Can't help the payouts..
Paid $3.80/$2.76/$2.34; Ex 2-11 $26.34

Joe Talamo gives some good inside stuff on TVG. He mentioned that in the slop, he likes to take his horse away from everyone else & give them a good warmup. He knows immediately whether his horse is going to run well or not.
He also called the DQ in the 5th @ Keeneland which was pretty obvious. But he gave the jock's point of view & how difficult it is to alter course when another comes over on you especially in the slop. Caton Bredar compared it to going 80 MPH in your car & someone swerves into your lane.
Good stuff!
Speaking of good stuff, UCONN/South Carolina championship is awesome.
And, the food truck showed up this morning at Meals on Wheels & that's fantastic news. We don't know about next week, so we're going to freeze the chicken parmesan & have it available if we have this problem again.
The Monday & Tuesday cards @ Keeneland are solid. Had already capped yesterday's which will be Tuesday & capping Monday's card now.

At Aqueduct #1 Bank Frenzy went gate to wire winning by about 2 lengths @ 1-2..
The 2 winners couldn't buy anyone a Happy Meal but whaddya gonna do, right?

Joe Talamo, that is a familiar name from the So Cal circuit. Is he retired now? It had been a while since seeing his name around. Hell Midnight, you know that all the Bridge Jumpers were on Bank Frenzy today and Goats On A Tree!

Yea Freddie, Talamo is taking some time off to spend time with his family. When he was younger, his style was a lot like the way Tyler Gafflione rides now. In fact he was the 1st apprentice to win the riding title at the Fair Grounds. Being a jock is exhausting. You're always trying to make your weight & purging when you can't. Many jockeys, for their size, have huge gnarly hands & strong as hell. Damn stressful job.
The pools today were all screwed due to all the scratches & surface changes. I knew Bank Frenzy would get hammered but not Goats on a Tree until 6 others scratched out of the race & she has already won in the slop.
I think Monday & Tuesday will be fun cards to play.
