Solid cappin on the Derby though could not hold off the royal blue (who won 16 races yesterday, four grade ones), big horse ran huge first time on a surface rated other than fast.  Small profit, will try to string four today.

7)  12,500 maiden staters, Got Your Six looks like the speed, both Seagar Man and Chasing Ryter will take money, Knappster from the 14 with the bug, yet El Ondeado attracts my attention with shades added off a big work and a pair of preps.

8)  Senior citizen turfers going nine green with a big rail, obvious chaos with no on paper speed.  Vantastic an ouchy 9yr old gets the call.  Pete scratches his other warrior, 8 timer 350K earned the hard way.  Also "Syndey for powerful connections with Hector up.  Sometimes a race without speed, green he who runs last...

9)  Glatt off the shelf open with a trio off a collective total off some 38 months.  At least Trager is a sprinter with some quality and has worked OK for this.  Both Vlahos and Mgbagnick offer recency tho a cut below the afore mentioned trio.

10)  20k, one X staters lures J and M who has been on the board 8 0f 9 on the green.  Major upgrade in jock n trainer for a mare that tries.  Scratched out of Friday spot for this.  Blevy's Tiger runs two alike the one to beat, Elegant Sway off the fence has improved off the claim sheds the hood.

Spent too much capital leg one including the Mullins thing dropping from MSW to 12.5 who got slammed at the 5/8's, off at 7-5, no claim.

The horse we liked (best) scored @ $19 with first hood and a big work.  For some, of interest may be how/why first-time blinkers.  At all jurisdictions, a gate visit is mandated.  Most times, trainers will go ahead and just work their horse, though just standing can achieve starter approval, generally in company.  More than a few trainers will work out of the gate, first blinks and only work a furlong or two so the track clocker will not note the work

A misnomer is assuming the entrant will show more speed, though possible they are normally adding for a better break, or many times desperation.

Leg two found an inscrutable bunch of veteran claimers, always a trip race.  Took a pair, a 9-year-old, 90-day layoff, second choice (good luck with that) no show, and the Hronis/Sad's who had hidden form with Berrios up.  Bet last two flashes from 16-1 to half that looked a winner then a seem opened for bottled up D'Amato/Rispoli favorite, last out winner, same class, and our toast was burnt.

Leg three was a horror show, three Glatt,s off the shelf and not much else.  Mark indicated pre-race that he "could" win, yet the 6.5 panels was "too short".  Pace was 22, 44, and He got up, "Judge" a really nice horse.  

Final , small barn horse had showed enough talent to win with last month huge effort, same class, off the bench.  A late money deluge saw this one off at .60, broke poorly then cruised last to first.  Play most Sunday's So Cal late four, legs 2,3 here guesswork, be better next week.  bbb
