Hello Covers Community! This coming Saturday at 5:16 eastern time, race 9 in Kentucky, in her absolute backyard and at her favorite track…..
Heeeeeeeeeere’s Percy!!!
Ben Colebrook finally has had enough of Luan Machado. I know, I know…just like in team sports the players play and the coaches coach. But, LM already got Percy taken down in one race and has ridden her terribly in two others that I watched. Jose Ortiz rides her Saturday. I would call that an improvement. She goes 7/8 miles in a $400,000 race. The Breeders Cup race she could have focused on is a $1,000,000 contest. But the connections are being realistic…do they want a shot at 60% of $400k or 100% of nothing in a $1,000,000 race? As you ‘cappers know, track bias comes into play on big race days. Usually hardened and scraped on those days, the surfaces tend to be speed favoring.
It’s a large field, so the odds should be attractive (the morning line isn’t out yet) Ortiz should have her mid pack and beginning her run at the 3/8 pole. Ortiz is fantastic in getting a horse in a finishing position for the stretch run. I haven’t been this stoked for a race since Seabiscuit ran against War Admiral!
Let’s goooooo Percy’s Bar!
Good luck all!
