Opening Day at the SPA & Ellis Park

Tyler Gafflione was scheduled to return at Ellis Park today from his broken ankle but he's off his mounts. Not sure of the reason.

At Saratoga we have some short fields to start the day & there's a Honk For Donk sighting in the 11th Race with #7 Magnum's Microbrst with Johnny V @ 8-1. He showed early speed in his last but tired badly a month ago on Belmont Day at the SPA.

Race 1 & 2 I see a Linda Rice/Rudy Rod DD but it will be cheap with the small 6 horse fields.

DD 25 with 136

Nothing big today. Just a little action on a rainy South Florida afternoon.

#2 @ 3/2 won going away but actually looked like he was struggling with about a furlong left in the race. #5 closed for 2nd

Alive in the DD with 136

#1 completed the Rice/Rudy Rod DD paying $21.20

Race 6 Ellis Park..this one caught my eye.

#8 Cocktail Snkrinkle is running for the 3rd time in a month & his last was 8 days ago when he was claimed & now owned by Asmussen & his son Keith rides him today. Currently 6-1

Asmussen's kid had this poor bastard 4 wide all the way around the track. Never had a chance.

Saratoga Race 6 #2 Iron Orchard is a first timer who has 3 bullet workouts & is being heavily bet.

Tri key 2 with 567

WOW...#2 Iron Orchard flew out of the gate & left everyone in the dust.

#3 screwed up my tri as it came in 2-3-6-7
