Hello Covers Community. The real racing season is underway for a tease weekend upstate in Saratoga. Yes, the Belmont Stakes is Saturday and it’s not sexy but…
To me, the Belmont pick is all common sense. My selection has the numbers, the jockey, the final eighth times and the breeding. I’ve looked at the field over and over and each time the horse is Commandment. The other 3 year old choices in the race have, in my opinion, flaws that are glaringly obvious…
Tempo won the Derby with a perfect set up. Renegade shouldn’t have been out kicked by Tempo. Wallabee, I believe is an ATM that doesn’t want to win. Commandment shows he can win a fight and with only 8 horses to beat in this race, should get it done. Also, full disclosure, his momma (Sippican Harbor) gave me a nice score when she won the Spinaway at Saratoga. If I was Brad Cox, my instructions to Johnny V would be…”when you get to the turn, make a left”. Just let Johnny be Johnny.
The voice inside my head keeps telling me to use Ottinho on the bottom. So I will. But the focus is a win bet on Commandment.
Good luck all and we’ll be back when the Saratoga season officially begins next month!
