Gun Runner colt sells for $2,700,000 at The Saratoga Sale (2025)

Wow… speaking of money…so I dipped into the my racehorse thingy about 3 years ago.. I put app 1,000$ into 4 horses… one of which is seismic beauty… she has had 2 bone chip surgeries… each take app 5 months to come back from… so we were told one more… and we are retiring her… now look at her… in the breeders cup distaff… I say all that to say this… looking at how much $ we get from her racing… and she only has 7 races because she had a year of rehab… but if she wins the breeders cup race… I do not… think I will recoup my 1,000$…  it will take another victory for me to break even.  She was a 550,000 $ purchase.    It is kinda fun… but I won’t be doing this again… my other 3 … one has just recovered from bone chip surgery…has not raced yet…. one has faded 2x in msw and they want to sell her…so she’ll be in a claiming race at Del Mar soon…and the  other one is a 2 year old… not raced yet.   I did not look at return investment when I joined… and it’s not a big deal… just saying… you’d think you would make a tad if she wins breeder cup race.

I'm a big Gun Runner fan but that's a shitload for an unproven racehorse. I found it interesting they held the audience applause until the colt left the walking ring so as not to spook him.
