Basking didn't break exceptionally well & was next to last but Luca got her in stride picking off fillies one by one. He blew by the chalk at the top of the stretch to win by as much as 6. Since this was her 1st start I didn't know if she was going to like the slop but it didn't matter to her. A week ago she was entered as an MTO but didn't make it into the race. Today she was ready to fly.

In retrospect Basking was an MTO last Friday, the connections weren't concerned about her in the slop today & maybe preferred it.
