Thought this sequence could pay and it did yet proved a bit too volatile for us. Purses rival Saratoga and no ship, no Pletcher, no Chad etc. stock here at the Pea Patch never better.
Not that it's easy to win; ridiculous heat, horrible humidity, seen many melt well before post time. Did not have to deal with claimers so took a swing, though time did not allow pre-race comments not posted, I spent 2-3 hours on the sequence.
6) had bad luck this heat, no fan of Ms. Michael, good caretaker, never wins, yet her Tapit filly laid all over these on the engine. In a prerace interview Lynch made it clear his mare was dead short, so the boy (in his only mount of the day) quarter horses this one to the lead, Vince per force stalks, takes the lead into the turn, then the aforementioned boy sticks a half mile out, we put him away opened up, fought yet 45, 1;08 hurt bad as we lost the bob. A tenet worth mentioning is fitness/recency especially going two turns, horses seldom win 2nd off going two bends. Our three pack; off ninety days, and the other two one race back after long benchings, the race winner raced 32 furlongs since mid April. Swing and miss, toast burned leg one.
7) Went three deep finding no others capable all at some 3-1. Fast Town ran to his paddock looks, the other two (both who should win next out) had self inflicting voyages.
Stake: Took a foursome with a pair who have never turfed, and may never try it again, the other pair was the exacta.
9) Could only find a duo worth including; Brad's "tiz filly that cold cocked Hallandale maidens, again mid April, tenets usually win, ran great 2nd best. Our other an enigma, though first turf. $450K Flatter filly been working huge, nominated to opening day "Toga stake, green. Broke soft never involved at a ridiculous 8-1, figured something to five! Kudo's to Mike tons the best reclamation trainer on the planet, Casse, Motion could do little with this one, goes to Mike, one soft half in six weeks, tour de force. Four pays some $3500 for a pair of quarters. Delmar the 18th. bbb
