Betting opening day at race tracks

Is it profitable to bet opening day at race tracks, example Mountaineer Monday May 18th? is there a trend that works or should you stay away?

Id say to expect a higher handle on opening day whereby your getting a liitle more less experienced players putting there money down which can translate into more profit potential for better handicappers. 

But just fractionally, especially for a track like Mnr.

Its the weekend racing that proves more profitable as you get less experienced bettors getting down and betting names, color, number of horse and other dumb shit as the reason for there bets.

Thanks for your input. Trying to prepare  for my two days of wagering on the horses this month.
