Hi Vet..what is the Saturday race lineup? ? Changed because of early West Coast start..??could come but staying in Neveda for WS..Are you going both days?? Attending any Dodgers WS games.? 

Going to be a Great weekend with ALL the sports going on..Have a Blast and Forward ANY  Solid picks

Still to early without entries and posts, but I do think the Filly and Mare turf race with its 1 3/8 distance will be interesting with horses expected to go around three turns.

Distance changes depending on the host track dimensions. I was high on Chad Browns Gina Romantica at a price but he has decided now to skip that race to my surprise.

I hope the 5 yr old daughter of Into Mischief finds a home somewhere next Saturday and plan on getting a close up view of her and many others. 

I think that race and a few other internationals coming over will offer a good return on your money.

BC Mile Early Euro odds 

Gina Romantica. 20-1 Raced so well at Keenland. Will like the firm turf at Del Mar.

Johannes. 14-1 Local on the improve and looms large.

Carl Spackler.  10-1. I do not think his odds will be anywhere near that high.

Porta Fortuna. 5-1 Exotics with GR.

Notable Speech 7-2 ? Favorite

Would love to hear anyones thoughts on these races as we get closer to the best weekend in horseracing.

Idiomatic has been injured and now retired from racing. Idiomatic would have been the odds on favorite in the distaff and now makes Thorpedo Anna the one to beat with early odds of 7-5.

The Japanese horses dominate in America when the BC is on the west coast.  The Japanese this year are targeting most of the races and the hardest to assess all be their horses in the 2yo races.

Just read that Gina Romantica has scratched along with 8 of the 18 pre-entered by the Aidan O'Brien barn.

Should be another great weekend of racing.

Did not like the draw for City Of Troy. I thought Fierceness got an Excellent draw while forever young maybe Neutral. What say you? but going to wait and see how Thursday and Friday look.

Distaff

All that idiomatic is out Torpedo Anna’s odds could be as low as 4 to 5. While she’s had the best racing season and while I had her winning the Kentucky Oaks, I’m looking at Japan’s Awesome result. Bred for dirt, and posting an impressive 7 for 7 record. Her rivals have all gone on to win Stakes victory’s  of their own.

Based on most data, I’ve seen awesome result has run comparative or faster figures than torpedo Anna. Not worried about the distance will be the third or fourth betting choice.

Hanging out in Buellton doing some wine tasting, and making my way to Santa Barbara this morning and then on to  Del mar on Thursday.

Twenty years ago I attended the BC races at Lone Star in Grand Prairie, TX & that technology was not yet available. Our hotel ran a shuttle which was great because we didn't have to screw around with the traffic. We had a Apron Box located a little past the finish line which wasn't really ideal. Be prepared for a "long" day & the inevitable crowd.

I'm printing the form tomorrow & will start a thread to share what I find. I'm a big Carl Spackler fan & I also got attached to #8 More Than Looks. These 2 ran 1-2 at the Spa in the Fourstardave back in August & again in the Coolmore @ Keeneland. Charley Appleby, who is always dangerous, has #6 Notable Speech. I'll be looking to add a 4th horse for a nice box. 

This is the 11th Race which is the BC Mile on Saturday.

 I am in total agreement with you on that.

How many will they win is more the question.

One I will be placing a win / place wager on  is Awesome Result and another one in Alice Verite. Drawback is that this is her first attempt on dirt but connections know something As she was going to the Philly and mare turf yet they switched her to this dirt race and is training brilliantly. After running mile and 1/4 , this 1 1/8 sets up well for her. May get away from the field and be tough to catch. 30-1 ml.
