By far this is their best card of the meet. Eight Stakes races, full fields should make for a very exciting day. With the fuller fields, the money should get spread around more which raises the odds on the racers making it easier to profit by hitting fewer races. Let's hope the tracks are fast, firm and playing fair.
03.23.24, Fair Grounds ... LA Derby etc.

@TheBlackKnight This is Louisiana we are talking about - Fair??? Good Fortune BlackNight - thanks for your insight.
LOL, I hear ya. Thank you, you're welcome and to you as well. I've already gone over the card a half dozen times and have come up with different combinations each time. Frustrating? Yes but it shows/tells me the races are wide open. Hopefully we catch a few races and turn out a profit.

FG is sloppy and off turf today (Friday). If this holds true for tomorrow, my best guess is there will be many scratches for multiple races. If that happens, there will be less value and payoffs.

Really like Tuscan Gold [ml 8-1], son of Medaglia d'oro. Came in 2nd to Derby fav Sierra Leone back in November after getting bumped badly but closed well.
Then broke his maiden at Gulfstream after a rough start beating the even money fav by 3 lengths . Chad brown trained horse should appreciate the longer home stretch that Fairgrounds offers.
Will also play the 9 Realmenviolin in this [ml 20-1] along with thee 11 in supers. Would pay nicely. Catching Freedom,Track Fhantom willl be there as well but at those odds prefer others a little more.
Good luck. Hope the big fields hold up![]()

If you like the d'Oro angle, the eight should also be considered. This is not an endorsement for either/neither at this time as changes haven't been fully released.
I just rewatched Friday's races and am more concerned about the track conditions. If the dirt sealed properly, there should be streams of the rainfall/water, not puddles, or a slight combination of both. In the event the track comes up Muddy or Sloppy, history has shown front runners fair better than those from the middle of the pack and closers.
I was hoping the track would be fast and firm, but now expect several scratches from most of the races. After changes are released, if there's anything I like (8+/10), I'll gladly share it. Time to break out the mud capping tools.
Hope you have a cash positive day. ![]()

Track is being called fast and good.
In the Costa Rising, race 2, Sharp Charlie is whom my tickets will be built around.
The Crescent City Oaks, race 3, has a pair that interests me. They are Sister Ella and Light of Mania.
Race 7, The Crescent City Derby, have three that made my final cuts. They are Spinning Aces, El Dinero and Sonofaship.
The Tom Benson Memorial, race 8, is wide open. Currently, I have seven on the short list. Hopefully race 2 will shed a little light as to how the lawn is playing and what is seen in the paddock as well as the post parade and warm up. The lucky seven are, two, three, six, nine, ten, twelve and fourteen. For multi's, at this point, would consider using the 'All' button.
Red Route One, Gasoline, Money Supply, Super Cornito and Best Actor, in the New Orleans Classic (race 9), all have legitimate reasons as to why they could win or finish last. Hopefully the races from earlier will help separate the group.
Race 10, The Muniz Memorial, is another race that has half a dozen that I can see winning or finishing last. How the earlier lawn races go, might clear the picture better for me.
The Fair Ground Oaks, race 11 will have tickets based around Tarifa, Intricate and Our Pretty Woman.
The LA Derby, race 12, has six that will be used in exotics (three keys). The keys are Hall of Fame, Tuscan Gold and Track Phantom.
Sorry, not one of better analyses for the card but every race is just that close on the points scale used. All of them are within three points of each other. It's a matter of picking the correct horse on top so the exotics will profit as well.
with your wagers.

Race 12: Catching Freedom was the winner. Tuscan Gold showed. Track Phantom was fourth and Hall of Fame was off the board and, if memory is right was taken up around the top of the stretch.
To me, a bad day at the track still beats a good day at the office.
Hope you had more success than I today, best part is get to do it all over again/try again tomorrow and/or Monday.
