Who here plays live poker and isn't in favor of a 1 minute clock on all decisions?

Question

How in the world does the WSOP not have a 1 minute clock yet for all decisions?

"He's tanking!" For 15 minutes? GTFO!

I have never taken more than 2 minutes for any call/fold or raise in my entire life. And on average I'll take 15-20 seconds. 1 minute for big all-in calls.

It ruins the game. That is why online poker was so popular. The clock ensured you'd see a certain amount of hands.

1 minute for each decision and 1 minute extra if asked for. 1 extension per hour.

This is the easiest thing to put in place at the WSOP. Then get the clock to move local games. Pokers popularity will re-skyrocket if this is instituted.

Even CHESS, a game of FAR MORE intellectual rigor, has a clock! How can poker not have one (other than the one guy calling it on you after 8 minutes of waiting)?

Get this in place ASAP.

I suppose when you're playing with that level of money on the line you(the player) would prefer to have a little extra time?!

scalabrine · Answer

No. Not ten minutes. Even if I had a hand with a $50K river bet it wouldn't take me 10 minutes 94 even 5 to make a decision.

The worst part is the person always folds after making everyone wait ten minutes. If you can't make a decision after two minutes gtfoutta here.

I like being able to take longer. 5 min clock when called by anyone on the table. But as money approaches. Delay and fold tactics become apart of the game especially if the bubble is within two tables in tournaments. Cash game watching for a minute longer than awkward gives time for a bluff telling melt down or strength and complete composure to annoyance that it taking so long for the dealer to ship his loot.

The Bellagio is experimenting with these types of rules in some daily tournaments. Personally i like the idea and favor a two minute clock as the stalling and posturing has gotten out of hand

Sidehatch · Answer

Agree mostly. Am in favor of more clock at final tables or very late in tournaments, however.
