New to this so looking for a bit of advice on pick buying.
Do you normally buy picks just from covers.com or do you use a combination of sites? I'm looking around at what the best options are. I've seen a couple of threads on the fraud-y kind of sites that are always looking to take more money / never giving any picks and really trying to avoid falling into that trap, especially in run-up to SB.
Anyone got advice on how I tell what's good / what's crap, where you'd recommend and what you look for?
Thanks in advance

Think with logic please....If any person was so gifted that they could pick winners with ease.....WHY WOULD THEY TELL ANYBODY?
Aware of this, but there are a lot of people who sell picks with high percentage of winners (and a lot who buy them with a fair degree of success), so there must be some understanding as to who's good and bad / how you would choose who to trust? I'm looking for suggestions on the logic behind where and why people choose to buy.

I think you're better of scouring the many betting forums available on the internet. There are some decent cappers out there if you know where to look and the reality is they probably are just as successful as the people you'd pay money to.

I guess if you are dead set on paying for picks you should just go ahead and try it........I don't think you will get much help in choosing a gifted seller of picks from the experienced sports bettors on this forum...
Most know that paying for picks is bad practice....
Like I said earlier....If anyone was that good at picking winners...They would bet and win all the time and live like a king....Why would they want to be bothered by having to work at it and have their day clogged up with the normal hassles of running a profitable business .. (selling picks).

Let's get back to the reality of the subject. Long term you are trying to produce a profit. Because of the juice you pay picking 52.5% winners is the break even point. That is a VERY steep hill to climb. When you pay to purchase picks that just adds to the burden. It becomes a VERY VERY steep hill to climb. Think of it as a business. The less overhead you pay then the more likely you can produce a profit. In short, FORGET ABOUT BUYING PICKS. It's a VERY HIGH PRICE you would be wise not to accept.

Find some dude that sucks at betting and FADE him. That is the only true way to beat the book long term for those of us who do not have hours a day to research games (and still lose). They are out there on the web and do all the "work" for you. Just Fade the Mush
