If this a for real thread then I can share some advice.
Get a gym member ship.
Such as this.
http://guestpass.thegym.la/
https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-gym-la-los-angeles
The membership yes allows weight strength training but it also offers showers locker room a place to change and store things and the ability to be presentable in securing rent.
You have a job providing you have a way to cash the check all other pieces can fall in place in couple of weeks and you can get a room.
But the membership gives you some level of dignity as you struggle in the short term.

I remember I was visiting my nephew in SoCal and I figured, "Hey, maybe i'll hit Doja up." So i'm trying to catch up with him and LA is so dame confusing, so i'm in my Phantom circling around the area of Wilshire and Santa Monica and some creep jumps out of the bushes, harrasses this model chick, pisses in a fountain and hocks a loog on my Rolls. I wanted to shoot the bastard. F*ck You, LA! Atleast I got a blowy when I gave the model chick a ride.
I'm sorry things are tough, Warrenator, but it does get better. Hold your head up high and don't sweat the douche bags and gold digging skanks of the world.

Maybe a chance to reconnect to what needs to be realized... maybe you could find the treasure in wilderness you so earnestly seek. Calmly , and peace, prosper from the trip.
Stu I saw this in your neck of the woods if your still in Oregon.

Of what is real and what a dream.
Southern Oregon’s Rogue River is a renowned for having some of the West Coast’s most reliable salmon and steelhead fishing.
The Rogue also has a variety of trout-fishing opportunities, from easy summer angling for hatchery rainbows in the Cascades to challenging fly fishing for wild trout and steelhead, to the unique run of “half-pounders” in the lower river.
The Rogue River has been lauded for maintaining very good runs of salmon and steelhead while other rivers have gone through some steeper bust cycles.
And like applegate. Rogue offers blond dust as well.

The area around Gold Hill and Grants Pass is a popular place to prospect for good reason; there have been millions of dollars’ worth of gold found here. In this area, the river is relatively easy to access due to close proximity to the freeway. Of course, be aware of private lands in the area.
There are three sites that are available to recreational prospecting that are located along Highway 234 about 2 miles northeast of the town of Gold Hill. They are called the Gold Nugget Waysides, and are located on the south side of the highway along the Rogue River. These places have been withdrawn from mineral entry, meaning that they are not claimed and are open to small-scale gold prospectors.
Some of the richest gold bearing locations on the Rogue River are located within the Hellgate Recreation Area. The upper-end starts at the confluence with the Applegate River, and continues downstream 27 miles to the confluence with Grave Creek. This area within the Hellgate Recreation Area does not contain any mining claims and is open to recreational gold panning. It also includes tributaries up to ¼ mile from where they enter the Rogue River. Just be aware that property boundaries are not necessarily marked on the ground, so you still need to be sure that you are on public lands when prospecting here.

LA is not the land of milk and honey it's cracked up to be for most that move out there
Must be harder now dealing with the fallout from Covid with the movie and tourism business being hit hardest
The amount of normal working people that can't even afford to live in a shithole is quite depressing, not their fault just the way the game is out in La la land
