So What's Up with the Solar Eclipse on Monday?

To my Science degenerates,

What up, Slobs? No info on time but apparently it has a path. People are descending on Central Oregon to see it. Gott check to see where you fall. Google maybe?

Damn, thanks Stump.  I can't seem to find info on this anywhere.

Thanks Vern.

There are people paying top dollar to see this thing: https://www.ksl.com/?sid=45417917&nid=148

The thread title is Seinfeld-esque

Will see about 93% eclipse in my area.......good enough. I'm not going to drive 6 hours south for the extra 7%.

I'm going to lay down in my air-cond. bedroom with the shades drawn.Turn off the lights,un-plug computer,.......same thing.

Now the mass exodus.

It rains 6 friggin times a year in Vegas and it had to be this day, blah. Didn't really see anything at all :(

Told My Kids they may go blind looking at the sun ....Nothing to see IMNHO ....\\\

As usual it was cloudy with rain in NE Florida this afternoon. Nothing to see here so I watched some of NASA's coverage elsewhere and it was pretty cool. 10.000 people at NASA's encampment at the College of Charleston.  Nice to see people getting together and having a peaceful good time.

What are the odds that in this vast universe we live in there would be a star just the right size, that has a planet just the right size & orbiting it at just the right distance, with a moon just the right size & orbiting the planet at just the right distance, so as to every now and then allow the moon to completely block out the sunlight to the planet from said star?? Furthermore, the combination of the shape and size, of the moon, is a perfect match in relation to its distance so it can perfectly superimpose itself over the sun. What are the odds??

What are the odds that I care more about my Jets winning a Super Bowl ?
