Saw a dead person on the sidewalk again.

Question

Today on my ride back from work I saw a person dead up against a tree. His bike and things were with him but it seemed rigamortise set in and he did not make it.... There won't be a story on the news second dead person I encountered in the past few weeks dead on sidewalk. And it was most likely another overdose. It hit me and as I learned through these 55 years here it didn't concern me.
Because it wasn't my family. So didn't even slowed down continued home where I am.

Just another day. Of I am sure many. Don't use drugs don't make poor decisions because that will be you. For the grace of God it wasn't me....

It is so sad and a shame that it happens and that folks get in that situation.  It is also sad that we have become used to seeing it.

I used to see and literally step over dead bodies more often than I care to remember. This was before I moved to Oregon, when I was still living full time is the Bay Area. The crazy part is this was before fentanyl exploded on the scene. I'm still in SF 5-10 days a month most months. And even though conditions in the streets have worsened, I haven't seen a dead body overdose victim in like 10 years. At least not confirmed. I see people that could possibly be dead all the time.
