Anyone grow with pro mix hp, do you add soil or use as is with nutrient top up? Do you add lime? (15-20gal containers). I read you have to add perlite and dolomite to adjust ph but other than that it is good to go for entire grow isnt it, just the basic nutrient sched?

Seriously it matters what you want to grow pro mix is a great hobby enthusiast starting soil. For raised bed where space is very limited. Such as patio tomatoes cucumber carrots ect. It is expensive though and does not meet organic standards due to fertilizer is chemical and not from organic waste material. If your containers are not allowing water out such as an indoor plant place some small stones in the bottom of them to allow drainage from the roots. Plants need sunlight water and care pulling weeds daily. And gardening is a great way to get away from reality and clear ones mind.

Promix does have some fert in it? im looking for low maint grow medium. Promix seems pretty low maint. Get conflicting info on some gardening sites. Some people recommend no nutes, some start nute shedule after 7 days some say 3 weeks.
Just going with promix hp, worm castings, dolomite lime and perlite. Root booster for the first 2/3 weeks. Havent got much time to devote to growing until july so looking for something easy. Thanks for the info.

Fish decaying can raise pH as effectively as lime . hence why fish was added to corn fields when pilgrims came here . but be careful soil above 8.2 will destroy plants if you over do it acetone (vinegar can drop the pH organic pine needles ground added to water can drop pH as well bit again anything under 6 will burn plants dealing with these parameters

Blueberry bush likes it around 6-6.5 where squash is near 7.2-7.5 it is a Goldilocks effect. Just remember what ever is in the soil and water will be in the plant if you choose to injest it and is not good also using too much of anything is not wise .

Pro Mix is good sh!t. No soil necessary. It is almost like Hydroponic. Consider getting a drip emitter system from Home Depot or Lowes and a timer to water on a regular schedule with little to no worries other than the wind blowing your pots over. I hit with Miracle Grow Blue once a week for tomatoes, peppers, and cuckes. Much better production than in ground in my opinion.
First Post, couldn't help myself. Like gardening and watching some sports. Kind of gave up betting. Long time lurker. Good luck with your greenery.
