My neighbor offered me 7,500$ to move.

There is a house behind me which you can see pretty well. In the summer the trees block them pretty good. Except the deck. When I moved in last year I intro'd myself and told him that I had Tourettes. He said oh no problem. My neighbor on the right and the left are good people and becoming good friends. However I notice that the guy behind me stopped sitting on his deck when I would come home. Or go inside when I would come out. So I asked my other two neighbors If my occasional noises would bother them. They both said no. Not in the least. Long story short, the guy says to me today that him and his wife were talking and said that they really cant tolerate the noises coming from me. I asked if there was anything I could do to help and he said "yea move" I told him im in a year lease and in fact ive started talking bout buying the house. Then I got a little pissed but realized that Tourettes isnt for everyone or whatever.

So I laughed and said well I dont know what to tell you but I dont have the money right now to move and I like it here. He said well thats the other part. We are willing to offer you 7,500$ to move. AND he will find people to rent the house so I can get out of my lease.

I said ill think about it. Quite frankly I dont want to work, live, or play where Im not wanted. However it then dawned on me. Fuck him I dont have to move anywhere for anyone. But then I thought should I have them up the offer? I mean there are plenty of houses I could rent/buy.

But fuck me do I really bother this guy that god damn much? WOW.

I'd go over and kick the crap out him, especially if he looks at you crosseyed.  But only if he is older, smaller and weaker than you.

$7500 is a nice start towards a down payment on a house of your own.  

Naaaah. If you like it there and don't want to move go tell him to shove his money up his ass and go fuck himself. That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Does he know you have tourettes?

I'd take the $7500.  I'd try for more but I'd take it.  This guy sounds like a miserable fuck that won't be happy with anyone living there.  

If you were considering moving anyways..........$7500 and way out of your lease in todays economy is FUCKING AMAZING.

Its a matter of pride AND principle. I refuse to let someone try to "buy me" However I dont like feeling uncomfortable. This whole thing bothers the fuck out of me. Besides I have a lakeview house and pretty big. 1100 a month for a house like this and a good size yard is hard to come by. Only thing that sucks is the heat and the drafts. House was built in 1932 (around) and it was mainly for the summer.

Tell him to make it 9 grand and 1 grand donation to a tourette's acceptance organization.  Can you just find another place to lease nearby?

Was going to ask if you were the same guy who got into the altercation at the store. You might need to give that guy the $7500.
I'd take the $$. Use it as a downpayment on your own place.

Don't move and take the $7,500 anyway.

I'd be out of there. Forget principle. This is $7500. Play hardball and tell him $10000 or you won't go. Then if he refuses wait a few days and say you'll still take the $7500.

How much noise do you make, anyway? You have a house and property, it's not like he lives upstairs. I know what tourettes is, but maybe i'm confused with how much noise you make.
