I've lost over half a million gambling, oh well on to the next bet.

I prefer betting on futures instead of betting on addictive daily bets.

I have been sports gambling since 2009, my personal rules on sports gambling:

1. Money management. Bet less than 5% of your total current bankroll per bet. Be discipline.
2. Be a strategic gambler by picking your spots and wait for the right opportunity. 
Never be an emotional compulsive gambler by betting because it's your favorite team or for the action or bet against a team because you hate a certain player.
3. Stay emotionless all the time. Bet like a robot. There's no place for emotions in this profession. Be unbiased.
4. Do your research by watching game footage, trends and statistics should be used on division rivals only. 
Don't judge a team based on what they did in their previous game.
5. Never bet on heavily juiced/vig lines. Like a line at -1000 for example.
6. Never bet on heavily valued lines. Like a terrible team at 100 to 1 odds to win championship.
7. Parlays should be no longer than 2 teams, the bigger the parlay is, the greater the House Edge. Research and Secure your first pick before moving on to your second pick.

8. Teasers should never pass through the zero.

9. Teams with home field/court advantage tend to win games. Sportsbooks know this and favorites the home team.

11. Never bet on preseason games on any sport. Predicting a 2nd string and 3rd string team is stupid because of the lack of game footage on mostly unknown players.
12. If you are extremely compulsive, arrogant, drunk and biased. The best advice is to "Don't Gamble".
13. Learn from your mistakes. Most gamblers don't learn from their mistakes. That's why I made these gambling rules.

 to be honest it helps me to be in this forum ... all i see are people going crazy because of a blown save or some lazy savage not running a play out to cost his team the game... it makes me never want to gamble again... i am having the time of my life enjoying other things besides gambling.

football season, it will suck but i will play a nice fantasy football league which should soften the blow... hey man, keep gambling but me and you know its an addiction and not something bringing anything good into your life

For $100 or whatever you entry fee is you get months of entertainment and camaraderie with your fellow man. Sure beats  holding an OVER 44.5 Seahawks vs. Cardinals ticket. I don't need to ween myself out of gambling. I haven't made a bet since the Super Bowl and I'm fine with it.

It's like saying to an alcoholic, you should go to bars and hang out with your friends and hope you can avoid having a drink.

There are other places and other avenues to socialize with your friends. I remember I tried to quit one year when I was in college. I got to about week 5, but the hours I was spending on fantasy football was tempting me too much and I eventually got back in.

Like I said before, I have no idea what's going to happen when football starts and the temptation is there again. It's those damn MAC Tuesdays and WAC Fridays that are gonna be the toughest for me though.

MAC Tuesdays out of boredom, WAC Fridays cuz it's my favorite thing to to do to end my work week.

LOL oh man football season is so awesome... college football saturdays are the best for me... games start at 11 am and dont end till about 3 am sunday usually when hawaii is playing

clepto, the one guy that should definitely quit gambling is you, you are the biggest mush on this site... maybe if u werent a fan the canucks may finally win.

Can you point out anyone who documented 30 picks at 60% on NCAAF and NFL all ATS last season in a contest?

i've been gambling since i discovered party poker my soph yr in highschool when i was 16. now at 22. i never felt the urge or need for action like most gamblers do. always felt in control. i do lose but there really are some sick degens with this disease. feel sorry for them bc they truely are the suckers. baffles me how some ppl can't go one day or a week without placing a bet. or cant wait till one season of a sport is over so they can wager the next. unreal 


good for you to step away from this lifestyle to help better yourself hook but if others can control the urge theres really no problem in what we do
