1804, the Lewis and Clark Expedition stayed for a time with a band of Wichíyena Sioux on the Vermillion River in modern-day South Dakota. On August 25, Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and 10 other men traveled about 9 miles (14 km) north of the river's junction with the Missouri River to see the "mountain of the Little People". Lewis wrote in his journal that the Little People were "deavals" (devils) with very large heads, about 18 inches (46 cm) high, and very alert to any intrusions into their territory.[9] The Sioux said that the devils carried sharp arrows which could strike at a very long distance, and that they killed anyone who approached their mound.[9] The Little People so terrified the local population, Lewis reported, that the Maha (Omaha), Ottoes (Otoe), and Sioux would not go near the place.[9] The Lakota people who came to live near the "Spirit Mound" after the Wichíyena Sioux have a story no more than 250 years old which describes how a band of 350 warriors came near the mound late at night and were nearly wiped out by the ferocious Little People (the survivors were crippled for life).

they were called stick people. but i was all pumped up to go off over 'fake' news. so i could point lewis and clark were sent to explore the land called the louisianna purchase. they carried with them an example of great technology an air rifle capable of killing a buffallo at 100 yards. this air compressed rifle was developed by smiths in pennsylvania to compress air much like a modern day bb gun more pumps greater range. it is displayed in the smithsonian as is the journals the two men kept during the journey of the route the tribes encountered and the "oddities" that once were but now are mocked.
Little people souls less than 24 inches have been always a tale of leprechans in old country of ireland or scotland, but these creatures in my belief exist even unto today.....
they were consider dealvils because noah webster did not have an dictionary at that time he was not even born. and today any abnormial known not explained by science is mocked as superstition. but to me lewis and clarks journey on the blaze of the oregon trail was about the closest to actual observation with out bias at that time. hence they saw a 18 in human figure...

I once heard a tale of five children who won golden tickets to visit their chocolate factory with one adult - parent or guardian. None of them were ever seen or heard from again.....
