I've had a couple things there but I usually wind up getting the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger every time.

Yeah the Anchor Bar or the  Buffalo Tap Room on Sheridan kicks ass as well ....

NO One has Wings like Buffalo

Really?? I always wanted to go there just to try the wings but I have heard the Anchor Bar is really just a gimmick joint because they invented them and are not really that good BUT the best places are still in Buffalo

Granted, it's highly marketed, but you're gonna have that with tourist stops. I had em for the first time last year when I moved here, and have been hooked ever since.

The one they just added at the Buff airport is mobbed 24/7. They are doing something right...

Elmo's wings off of Millersport Hwy. in Amherst best wings in Buffalo by a mile all the Sabres go there for post game wings and beer ......

I'm sure the wings are good there, but the Yardhouse gets a thumbs down from me.

First of all, it's in that fake (not kidding) "town" shopping area thing, called Town Square."  Second, it so fucking busy, you can't even find a place at the bar 90% of the time.  And third, the service sucks. 

I had heard about it, and because I used to brew beer (the Yardhouse has about 100 beers on tap), I thought I'd check it out.  I gave it a second chance, then a third.  After three visits, and I still feel the same way about a place, I'm done. 

However, in a couple of years, when the hype is over, it'll be less crowded and the staff will have turned over a few times, I'll check it out again, just because of the beer.  In the meantime, no thanks.

See MWC, I think the opposite. I have been in the service industry for 9 years now and I wont eat in a place unless its busy. I have seen places with no turnover use chicken breast that was 3 weeks old in the fridge and stuff like that. Its not pretty.

used to stay close to Elmo's on Buffalo long (more than 12 hour) layovers when I was still flying the line. thought Rooties, which is (was?) in the same neghborhood, wings were better. many Sabre players also used to stop by Rooties after Saturday games. I used to bid Buffalo Saturday layovers just for the hockey, beer and wings

They are OK, but they need to improve the actual wing quality.  No meat. 
 
I do eat their buffalitos with spicy garlic.

Boom goes the dynamite.  I was about to get dressed and go watch baseball at a bar so I just decided it might as well be BW3 so I can get som buffalitos.

I hear ya there.  I also have spent years in the service industry - dishwasher, cook, waiter, bartender and brewer.  To clarify, I'm not talking about some of the these always dead gaming bars around town, places that get a food order once or twice a day.

I'm talking about places that are good, have a good enough rep to fairly busy, but not slammed 100% of the time. 

Since you're in the industry, then you and both know that the quality (service and food) goes down considerably when the cooks and waitstaff are in the weeds, slammed busy, that's just a fact. 

Plus, I just don't like having strangers 2 inches from my food on both sides of me when I'm trying to relax and eat.  Just me.  Obviously that doesn't bother other people. 

No offense, it's just part of my weirdness. 

I'm sure I'll end up back at the Yardhouse eventually, if/when I do, I'll try the wings.  If I recall, they're on the apps/happy hour menu.

if you ever get into Westchester NY...try the Candlelight..best ive ever had...their sauce is amazing

Living in Northern CA., we have no Yard Houses, so I'm relagated to making my own wings. Here's a killer clone recipe for Yard House Firecracker Wings I've made a few times to rave reviews. Try it out -

Yardhouse

I was down in Palm Beach and asked the concierge where a good place was to watch sports and drink. His two choices were Hooters and the Yardhouse. Having never heard of the Yardhouse, but knowing Hooters blows ass I gave the Yardhouse a try. I've never seen so many beers on tap - after about 8 high gravity double IPAs I was fucked up

If you guys are even in Norman, OK, go to O'Connell's for the best wings you will ever have.  Not only is the sauce amazing, but the wings are about as plump as you will get with restaurant wings.
